Background

Dr. Jim Mastrich is a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He is listed in the United States Olympic Committee Sport Psychology Registry for 2004-2008 and is also certified as a Sport Psychology Consultant by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.

He is the author of Really Winning: Using Sports to Develop Character and Integrity in Boys and has also written two other psychology and personal growth books: The ACOA’s Guide to Raising Healthy Children and Strong Enough for Two. Dr. Mastrich has a private practice in Kingston, New Jersey where he specializes in a broad range of clinical and performance issues.

Dr. Mastrich earned his Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University in 1985 and is a member in good standing of the American Psychological Association and its Addictions and Exercise & Sport Psychology divisions. He is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology. A great believer in the responsibility of individuals to enrich their community, he coaches youth sports and helps coordinate several sportsmanship programs. Dr. Mastrich is a member of the board of directors of the Lambertville Area Education Foundation, and is also on the board of the Kindness Counts Foundation, where he helps promote adult and youth sportsmanship initiatives throughout North America.
